Happy Friday night.
Finally some good weather this week, really hoping it sticks around for the weekend, and hopefully get some NATURAL tan on those legs.
We’re planning a nice drive out to Lough Tay tomorrow. If you have seen the programme Vikings, they do a lot of filming for that there.
I’m very excited to share my very first blog post with you all and there will be many more to come. Enjoy and keep an eye out for our upcoming posts on maternity wear and some great product reviews….
Today I wanted to tell you all about Self Portrait.
Self Portrait is a London based contemporary brand launched in 2013 but has really taken off in 2015 with lots of celebs wearing the brand. It’s been worn by Reese Witherspoon, Julieanne Haugh, Asheley Madekwe, Pippa O’Connor and Rochelle Humes wore a different dress from the collection each week when presenting Ninja Warriors on Saturday night (btw has anyone seen that show, had me and husband in hysterics every week!) Oh and did I mention JLo is also a fan!
The stand out features of the brand is the lace detail, sheer panels and cut outs. They’re ideal for any event from a wedding to a christening or perfect for a day at the races.
The dresses can be purchased at Brown Thomas, Caris Closet and Asos. Unfortunately they come with a hefty price tag ranging from €250 to €350, unless you go with the alternative of renting a dress from Caris Closet, prices for rentals are in the region of €100.
However, we have a found a cheaper alternative for NeedsnotWants followers! While browsing Asos I stumbled across a brand called Chi Chi London whose dresses also feature the lace detail and sheer panels but at fraction of the cost. These dresses range from €60 to €110 and also come in Petite and Plus sizes. Some of the dresses below are currently on sale for as little as €40! They also specialise in gorgeous floral prom dresses for those ladies who are a fan of the full skirt. I seriously recommend you take a look.
