Back in May while Michelle was in Italy, I had the absolute pleasure of going to the Flormar first birthday celebrations in The Crypt in Christchurch.
I never knew they held events in Christchurch, such a cool and unique place to hold an event. The Crypt is in the basement and my friend and I were really excited to take a look inside, as she got engaged at Christmas and this could potentially make a cool wedding venue! If you’re looking for somewhere different for a wedding or party, it’s definitely worth checking out.
The guys at Flormar had thought of everything, from the pink carpet to the flower wall.
Absolout Vodka provided the drinks and served gorgeous cocktails with crushed ice and of course no event these days is complete without prosecco and cupcakes!
I was delighted to meet the lovely James Kavanagh (snapchat superstar) and his boyfriend William Murray, who were catering the event under their new food company Curabinny. I’d drooled over their Instagram pictures, so it was such a treat to get to taste their beautiful banana bread and glamnilla biscuits, they did not disappoint.
I have to mention the entertainment, as well as a really cool drum band (men in kilts, my fav) they had Alesha Dixon as a special performer. She was great craic, I loved Mystique so was straight on the dance floor when she started singing Scandalous!
Let’s not forget the important part, the makeup! Flormar had a full stand of all their products to check out, as well a makeup artists and nail technicians who were creating different looks using the products. Both myself and my friend had our nails done, while she had the makeup artist treat her to a makeover.
We were given a lovely packaged box, with some goodies to try out, which included the BB cream, terracotta blush and one of their long wearing lipsticks.
I was excited to try the BB cream but the shade was a little too dark for me 😓 It might work better when I have a tan.
Below is the blusher and lipstick swatched on my hand. The lipstick is a great coral tone for summer. The terracotta blush is different to the normal shades I wear, I think you’d have to build this up slowly rather than go too heavy handed. I am thinking it might also work well as a transition colour on the eye. I always see Jenny from Matte to Matallic use blush on the eyes, so may have to do some experimenting myself. I met her on the night too, just as nice as she is on her snapchat!
It really was an enjoyable night and having been to a few events previously, this was hands down my favorite. Everyone was so relaxed and having such a good time! To give the night that extra added bang, Flormar made an exciting announcement…….They’re due to open their very own store in Dublin. This is a great news for fans of the brand as they’re sure to have tons of new products to try. I for one cannot wait!
