Date night @ Empire Swords

Hi Guys,

TGIF! That was a long week!

Last weekend myself myself and my hubby headed to Empire Swords for our date night. We always tend to eat in the same places and hadn’t eaten in Empire before so it was nice to try out somewhere new. I had heard recently that there was a new chef in there and the food was tops so we decided to go and see for ourselves. We had been here before for a few nights out, i actually had my 30th birthday bash here last July, and always love it when we go there for drinks so it was nice to see the quiet restaurant side to it.

The menu is fantastic, with a great selection to choose from and its not over priced at all. You can check out the full menu Here

Here’s what we had for starters

I simply cannot pass chicken wings by when i see them on the menu. This portion was HUGE and would feed 2 people. They were piping hot, crispy and just the right amount of sauce! The sauce is probably one of the nicest i have tasted and they come with a little side of blue cheese and celery. Yum!

Clive went for the salmon starter and i had to try it. Up until about 2 years ago i wouldn’t let salmon cross my lips, but when i got into the healthy eating i gave it a go and i love it now, i’m still a little iffy about the raw salmon, but tried this and really liked it. It was nice and mild and not an overpowering fishy taste.

Once the starters were finished we were both feeling pretty stuffed, so we asked for a little time between our next course arriving, just to get the appetite back up 🙂 When our mains did arrive i was super impressed before i even tasted them. The presentation on them was top of the range and i was ready to tuck in.

I went for the 35 Day Dry Aged 8oz Fillet Steak ‘Diane’ which was served with spinach and a side of baby potatoes & steamed vegetables. The steak was cooked to perfection and it was simply delicious!

Clive went for one of the daily specials which was lamb served with asparagus and he opted for sweet potato fries, and it was topped with a red wine jus. It was also delicious. I like to try it all out when we are out for a meal. Sharing is caring, as they say!

Dessert time! I had my mind made on this from the min I seen the dessert menu! Lemon meringue pie for me please. Sometimes when you get one of these out they can be quite tangy or bitter but this was so tasty and i loved every bite!

Clive’s hot chocolate brownie was unreal too!

As one of us was driving, me to be precise, I stuck to the water while Clive had a few drinks. I know, i’m such a good wifey!

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Empire, with totally delicious food. Clive even offered his compliments to the chef, i’m almost sure he said his name was Derek Merriman. Thank you to all of the lovely staff at Empire for a great evening and to Derek the lovely chef for adding a few more pounds onto my butt with his delicious food. The customer service was outstanding and food top of the range, We will be back very soon!

Honestly, try it out people, you will not be disappointed! But make sure to book a table as it’s quite busy and you don’t want to be disappointed if they don’t have a table when you arrive!!

They are located on swords main street just beside Cab2000, and you can contact them on +353 1 813 8328 to reserve a table!

Let me know if you try it out and what you think

Enjoy!

Love,

Michelle x
